Where do we fit in?

First off, if you go to USC Upstate or are planning on going there I urge you not to take "Physical Science." They have conducted the greatest scam ever. I signed up thinking I would be learning about plant, algae, fungi, etc. Boy was I wrong. What they failed to mention that "Physical Science" is in reality Physics. Oops. Anyway, just a warning.

Now on to what matters.....

"Of a world that's doing its best, night and day, to make me everybody else"- E.E. Cummings

So there's something I have been thinking about since we last spoke. Why is it that the world wants us to be something we aren't?And maybe a better question is why do WE want OURSELVES to be something we aren't? Don't get me wrong, I happy with myself. But I would be a hypocrite if I said there weren't some areas in my life that I wouldn't mind being changed. But why is that? Why do we feel this way?

The bible clearly states that God has a plan for each and every life. Close your eyes and think about that. WOW!! How incredible.

I say this concept is incredible and I truly believe it is. But why are a lot of us not happy with ourselves. And why is the world not happy with us. Hopefully you aren't looking for a 100% true answer from me because you will not find it. I do, however, have an opinion on the matter and think it is worth reading. If you do not want to be offended you may want to stop reading here (although I'm not out to offend anyone, I could see where my opinion may rub some a little rough).

My answer to the above questions is simple. WE (individually and as a whole) are not as close to God as we'd like to think. But I go to church every Sunday and I read the bible and pray daily. Cool. But are you TRULY connected to God. Are you intimate with him (credit to Allie for the intimacy topic). I think if we really examine ourselves the answer is so loud it hurts. NO! NO! NO! God created us each in our own special and unique way. There are over 6.5 billion people currently in the world. And you mean to tell me God took the time to mold each one of us individually? Well surely there is someone else out there "just like me." No there isn't. This is not including those who have lived before us and will live after us, Yes, life will go on after we leave this Earth.

I need to do a better job of truly admiring the beauty God has put on the Earth just as much as the next guy. If we take time to realize how beautiful the world is hopefully we will start to include ourselves in that category. We are beautifully made and individually made by the Creator of the universe. He made you the way you are for a reason. What gives us the right to try and change that or to not be down with that? Are we that arrogant?

I hope this entry isn't falling upon deaf ears or since this is the internet, falling upon blind eyes. Here is a promise to my readers if there are any and God. After all, His opinion is the only one that matters anyway, right? I promise to take time this week to just look at the world around us and point all the beautiful things in it, including myself. Feel special because you are special. God made you you for a purpose so embrace it and run with it as fast as you can. By doing this, the world's opinion will no longer matter. Only God's.

Keep doing what you do and know that God loves you no matter what. And there's not a darn thing you can do about it so just embrace it and it will change you, I promise. Until next time.......
